Jan S. Drabczuk

Jan Drabczuk is the President and CEO of JD Defense Solutions a US defense firm specializing in consulting, delivery and business development in the prime areas of aviation, logistics, acquisition programs, training, modeling and simulation, advanced technologies and IT services.

From August 1996 thru May 2010 Mr. Drabczuk was a senior executive at EDS and HP holding positions from sales and delivery to senior vice president of Army Programs. He was responsible for the development and execution of over 60 US Army, OSD, COCOM and DOD EDS/HP programs. Areas of responsibility included strategic planning, budget formulation, new business development, proposal support, profit and loss, and management of diversified portfolio of personnel, logistics, infrastructure, enterprise solutions, simulation, collaborative environments, foreign military sales and acquisition IT programs both domestic and internationally.

Prior to joining EDS, Jan spent 22 years as an active duty commissioned officer in the US Army, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His last active duty assignment was as PM CAAN/PM DIS at STRICOM (now PEO STRI) in Orlando, Florida. He managed the Advanced Distributed Simulation Technology (ADST) contract of over 90 simulation programs involving combat development, material development, training development and test and evaluation. His military service was spent in aviation logistics, flight operations, research and development, space processing, space operations, simulation, experimental fight test and program management. He was assigned to major Army commands in the Continental US, Korea and Germany as well as duty with NASA on the Space Shuttle Program at the Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX. He is a Master Army Aviator with over 2800 hours operational and test flight experience in over 40 different fixed wing, jet and rotary wing aircraft. His military awards include the Legion of Merit with one oak leaf cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal.

Jan has a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, Boston, MA and a MS in Management from Troy State University, Troy, AL. He is also a graduate of the US Army Flight School, Ft Rucker, AL, the US Naval Test Pilot School, Patuxent River, MD, the Armed Forces Staff College, Norfolk VA and the Defense Systems Management College, Ft Belvoir, VA. He presently serves on the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) National Executive Board as the VP for Chapter Affairs. Jan is married to the former Gail Sullivan of Savannah, GA. He has a daughter Kimberly who is married with two children and living in Leavenworth KS.
